NYC's Ambassador Yellow Pages: Among First for Syndicated Research Study

PR Newswire - NEW YORK, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ - New York City based Ambassador Yellow Pages announced today that they are among the first of the major New York City publishers to sign on for participation in the 2005 Yellow Pages Syndicated Research program, for each of its markets -- Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn, where they publish over 3.5 million directories each year.

The research program will be conducted by the respected research firm of Knowledge Networks/SRI, selected from over 20 research providers. The 2005 Yellow Pages Syndicated Research Program was developed by a coalition of industry association leaders, representing national advertisers (ANA), yellow pages publishers (ADP and YPIMA) and CMRs (ADM).

"We welcome the chance to have an industry acknowledged leader provide an unbiased and clear picture of the usage landscape in New York City," notes Ambassador's CEO, Kathy Hipple. "This industry - especially national advertisers - are clamoring to have third-party, verifiable usage numbers for all major markets."

According to Larry Angove, president of the Association of Directory Publishers, "The effort is driven by the expectations of national advertisers, who are begging for, even demanding, reliable research (like Arbitron for radio and Nielsen for television) on which to base their buying decisions."
